The rack kit is not "soft and floaty" like the factory power steering boxes, but instead delivers smooth direct power assisted steering with less bump steer than factory and eliminates that “wandering” feeling of the steering box completely.
With careful adjustments the rack and pinion kit can be positioned to achieve zero bump steer!
You may also know that the reason 99% of all Valiants on the road have had, or have, a cracked chassis rail is because of the steering box being swung off of the chassis rail.
The rack kit has a cradle that bolts to the chassis on both sides, supporting the complete front sub frame section.
We have seen racks last in excess of two hundred thousand Kms!
Tie Rod Ends (supplied) to use are simple Commodore ones.
Supplied complete with fitting instructions (with no welding required!)
Takes around 3 - 5 hours to fit the power to power kit and around 4 – 7 hours for the complete manual conversion kit.
