The switch did not go all the way into the housing due to different clearances from the original part. This meant the retaining grub screw could not do its job. After modifying the mating area which took an hour or so due to the delicate nature of the area found that the mechanism now does not return from the start position unless the key is manually turned back causing the starter to remain engaged after the engine is running. Overall not a very satisfactory outcome.
