Disappointing result & still not fixed!!

A good friend of mine who is more mechanically minded than myself assisted with the installation. (he kept an eye on me!!) Two things happened after we got it in:- 1) both indicators came on when you turned either indicator on and at times it was like it had hazard warning lights?? We followed the new for old wire guide & only did one wire at a time so I'm sure it is correct and 2) both indicators are really stiff to turn on and off if they are not cancelled by the auto cancel when turning the steering wheel i.e. indicating in to a slip lane, changing lanes etc
