Overview
This exclusive reproduction knob is the only way to get a factory correct knob in your 3-speed equipped Valiant.
It is a reproduction of the knob used in vehicles factory fitted with 3-speed manual floor shift.
This Australian handmade reproduction has been made out of MDI Polyurethane for an affordable and suitable replacement.
If desired, you can paint in the white for the gear indicators.
NOTES: Upon first receiving your new knob, we recommend washing in soapy water to clean off all the glossy looking mould release agent. You may also want to trim some of the moulding joins off with a utility knife.
About our Polyurethane componenet:
We are one of very few companies that has setup to use newer MDI technology polyurethane for suspension and reproduction items and possibly the only supplier for our Chrysler Valiant models - this is due to the injection molds and equipment being different to use MDI and most long standing polyurethane companies are far too invested with the older TDI style molds and equipment.
Our MDI urethane is superior to TDI urethane products in a number of ways including:
- Wide range of hard and soft type materials allowing us to finely tune suspension for comfort and reliability
- Very high resistance to commonly encountered chemicals and fuels meaning slower degradation of our products.
- Higher density of urethane at a molecular level increasing resistance to torsional tearing and breaking.

- I was disappointed with the finish of this item. There are air bubbles and the material it is made from does not easily lend itself to easy trimming of excess material, as was advised would be needed. It fits and does the job, but not a quality item.

Obviously made from a different material than the original, would not really pass as a factory part, however looks better than any other alternative.
