By controlling cam walk, it can assist in maintaining more consistent ignition and valve timing, while also helping reduce unnecessary wear on lifters and oil pump drive gears.

The matt finish gives a clean, purposeful look that suits both tidy restorations and performance engine builds. A key benefit is the front-serviceable seal design, allowing the seal to be replaced from the front side without the usual extra hassle. It also includes the front seal retainer ring, making it a practical and well thought out replacement for tired or damaged original covers.
