Overview
Edelbrock's performer carburetors feature two-piece, all-aluminum construction for cooler operating temperatures and less warping. There are no gaskets below the fuel bowl level for fewer leaks, and no plastic parts or power valves to blow out. The carbs use easily changed metering rods for precise tuning, and the primary venturi booster is a bottom-feed design for smoother acceleration and better drivability. Also included with every Edelbrock carburetor you will receive a owner's manual.
These manuals consist of two sections;
- Section 1, theory of operation and tuning procedures which will help you be prepared to develop your own individualized calibration.
- Section 2, tuning procedures will take you through a step-by-step procedure that will enable you to achieve a desirable calibration. For added ease of tuning, a calibration reference chart for your model of carburetor will be included.
Calibrated for economy with performance
Designed for 402 C.I.D. And larger engines with Edelbrock performer manifolds and other brands of similar design, these carbs are recommended only for stock to performer level applications. They are not recommended for use on RPM or Torker II intake manifolds. Calibrated 2% leaner than #1407. Provides excellent fuel economy when used on 383/440 C.I.D. With performer manifold. Includes both timed and full vacuum ports for ignition advance. Comes with: metering jets - primary .110, Secondary .107; Metering rods - .075 X .047; Step-up spring - orange (5" hg).

| Performer Series Carbs will work with Ford automatic overdrive trans (AOD) when used with Lokar bracket SRK-4000; Edelbrock carburetors are not calibrated for or compatible with alcohol, race or E85 pump fuel.; The use of alcohol or E85 in your Edelbrock carburetor will damage your carburetor and void your warranty. These fuels can also damage other fuel system components, unless specifically designed for use with alcohol fuels; The use of a new fuel filter between the fuel pump and carburetor is required.
