Direct bolt in replacement, no wire adapters required**
These direct fit all new high torque starter motors boast a huge 2.5 horsepower, whist being nearly half the size of a factory fitted unit leaving more clearance in your engine bay for extractors that often foul on the factory starter motors.
These starter motors have higher torque output with less current draw meaning you will have less power draw from your battery on startup, leaving your ignition system to do its job properly during start-up.
All this whist having more grunt to easily turn over even the lumpiest of engines.
**These units are a direct bolt in replacement; has correct female blade connector for ignition relay; no modifications are required if you still used the factory original male blade terminal connector on your wire loom.
IMPORTANT NOTICE.
This
starter motor will only suit engines running a 148 tooth ring gear on
the flywheel or torque convertor. The teeth count of your current
starter motor is irrelevant as differences in the pitch angle and size
of the starter motor gear can result in a different number of teeth
being required.
Please count the teeth on your current ring gear before purchasing this starter motor.

- I replace the original starter on my CM 265 with Hemi Performance High Torque Starter Motor, good clearance now of the extractors now due to the very compact design, right price and quick delivery. Note that if fitting to a Hemi 6 you need to install the spacer supplied.

- This item has been on back-order for along time. I received a notice that stock had arrived and was able to order it. I later got a call to apologies for the delay between ordering and shipping and I was given me an update and the item waas shipped same day. What great service! I've not yet installed it but a quick comparison with the old bosch indicates installation should be straight forward. Looking forward to hear this puppy turn the engine over in quick time.

- I did not realise that there are two types of starter used by Chrysler on their V8s a 10 Tooth and a 9 Tooth it pays to check! as they are not interchangeable!

- This is a cracker! The starter bolted straight in no worries. I've noticed the cranking speed is much quicker allowing for easier starts, especially during winter. Highly recommended

- This starter looks impressive, especially for the price. However, it hasn't been fitted yet. In the description it states that it will suit the original loom with no modifications which seems correct by the photo of the starter on the HP web-site. For example the female of the loom fits the male on the starter. But the starter I received has a post type terminal on the starter relay connection, so a modification is required, either to the starter or the loom.
