Replace a worn or unreliable inhibitor / neutral safety switch with this brand new factory-style reproduction for Chrysler Valiant models fitted with the Borg Warner 35 automatic transmission. This switch is designed to help prevent the starter motor from operating while the vehicle is in gear, improving safety and restoring correct automatic transmission starting behaviour.
It also supports the reverse light circuit where applicable, making it a practical replacement when chasing no-crank issues, intermittent starting faults, missing reverse lights, damaged terminals or an original switch that has become loose, corroded or unreliable with age.
This is a 4 pin wiring configuration switch. Some early Ford and Chrysler applications used a 3 pin plug and earthed through the body of the switch, so vehicles still fitted with a 3 pin loom may require a 4 to 3 pin adaptor or a small wiring loom modification during installation.
