No longer do you have to settle with a 50+ year old switch that falls apart on the floor not only risking electrical shorts and fires, but also being inconvenient to replace or repair!
This premium Ignition switch suits all Valiant VH/VJ/VK/CL/CM models, including Charger.
We have built this switch using modern manufacturing methods and materials drawing on over 50 years of improvements within the electronic industry, almost every aspect of this switch has been improved from the original whist retaining OE specifications and fitment all the way down to the reproduction of the factory loom and plug!
Here is just a few of the changes made:
- Improved cast housing design to prevent the switch "popping" apart
- Improved contact material used within switch
- Improved backer with higher temperature thermoplastic
- Improved wiring thickness and factory loom plug
- Improved locating springs and balls
- Improved centre keyway with extended nose and edge guides to prevent internal twisting.

the reproduction ignition switch, is exceptional , i love the improved retaining design (Hex key screws ) , and the ease ( anyone who has ever had to rebuild an ignition switch ) to modify this to a 71 VH ignition barrel with just a lite hone

- The switch did not go all the way into the housing due to different clearances from the original part. This meant the retaining grub screw could not do its job. After modifying the mating area which took an hour or so due to the delicate nature of the area found that the mechanism now does not return from the start position unless the key is manually turned back causing the starter to remain engaged after the engine is running. Overall not a very satisfactory outcome.

- The switch is better built than the original. As with all Mopar related contraptions nothing is easy, but get all your wiring out from behind the dash to ensure easy connection.

- All good apart from the female plug attached. Search every auto electrical specialist in town and no one has ever seen one before , had to swap for a standard 4 wire plug

- This is fantastic to get a brand new switch. Now I want Hemiperformance to make the harness connector to plug this into (please?). I've not been able to find a matching plug to connect to this original (my harness has been modified and the plug that this would normally connect to I no longer have.

I recently replaced my ignition switch as a precaution because it was going to fail at some time. As I have replaced a couple before, I knew what was required.
It is great to feel the positive action of the new switch compared to the sloppy operation of the old one. I certainly recommend one. - Like that its not plastic . Havnt fitted yet still working on other things By Con (posted on 8/07/2022)
